ABOUT THE POSITION
The Mechanisms and Therapy of Genetic Brain Diseases team at Institut Imagine (Paris), led by Dr Michela Deleidi, studies mechanisms shared by genetic and age-related disorders, including inflammatory, infectious and neurodegenerative pathways. Using human iPSCs, organoid cultures, microfluidic chips and single-cell omics, we investigate disease mechanisms and therapeutic targets.

We are recruiting a laboratory technician for a 12-month project on the gut-brain axis in Parkinson’s disease, combining iPSC cultures with microfluidics.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Main responsibilities will be to provide technical support for microfluidic chip projects. IPSC and cell culture experience is expected, but technical expertise is not required for all techniques listed below. Candidates will be trained appropriately to routinely perform:
Maintenance of human iPSC and organoid cultures, including medium changes, passaging, cryopreservation and quality checks;
Supporting established differentiation and culture protocols for iPSC-derived tissues, including peripheral neurons, microglia, brain organoids and intestinal organoids;
Routine operation of PDMS-based microfluidic chips;
Assisting with experimental treatments, sample collection, immunofluorescence staining and fluorescence microscopy;
Maintaining experimental records and contributing to reagent preparation, stock management and routine laboratory organisation.
QUALIFICATIONS
BTS, BUT/DUT, licence professionnelle or equivalent technical qualification in cell biology, biotechnology, biomedical laboratory science or a related discipline;
Strong neuroscience or cell biology background;
Prior experience with cell culture; familiarity with iPSC technology and differentiation is a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience with PDMS-chip fabrication and handling;
Ability to follow standard operating procedures, work collaboratively and learn new experimental techniques;
Experience organoids, microfluidics, immunostaining or fluorescence microscopy is welcome.
CONTRACT AND APPLICATION
12-month fixed term (CDD);
Salary according to Inserm pay scales;
Start date: as soon as possible or by agreement;
Working language: English; French is an advantage;
Please send a CV and a short statement of motivation (in English or French).
