The Institut Imagine is a world-renowned research institution dedicated to advancing the understanding of rare genetic diseases. Located in Paris, our institute brings together a diverse team of scientists, clinicians, and experts to collaborate on groundbreaking research projects that have the potential to transform the lives of individuals affected by rare genetic disorders. Our commitment to innovation, discovery, and patient-centered care has made us a leader in the field of rare diseases research.
The project leader, Dr. Eric Allemand, in the group of Dr. Olivier Hermine at the Imagine Institute in Paris, is seeking an engineer (Ingénieur d’étude) with a bioinformatics profile.
OUR TEAM:
Our research is dedicated to investigating the dysregulation of RNA processing mechanisms associated with hematopoietic disorders.
We focus on unraveling splicing dysregulation using Third-Generation Sequencing (TGS) technologies.
Our work has revealed an overlooked diversity in the transcriptome that is not currently assessed in the pathological context through conventional genetic analyses.
Our goal is to identify novel pathological markers linked to splicing and polyadenylation defects, explore their functional impacts, and develop corrective tools to address these diseases.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The selected candidate will contribute to several cutting-edge projects by operating both homemade and established pipelines to analyse data derived from long-read sequencing, with a particular focus on Oxford Nanopore technology.
The candidate will collaborate with other lab members, particularly PhD students.
REQUIREMENTS :
The ideal candidate should be proficient in several programming languages, including Python, R, and Bash, and possess the ability to perform standard biostatistical analyses.
Experience with bioinformatics workflows and a solid understanding of genomics are highly desirable.
